I didn't need "snow in a can" for my windows this year. It happened for real last night.

Our tree looks a little crooked this year, ya think?

Soon the goblins will be smashing these babies all over the highway.

snap out of it

This lonely snapdragon grew up in my garden all on it's own. I haven't planted them for a few years.

misty morning

When I looked out my window at the lake at 7am, I just had to go out and snap a few pictures. No photoshop was done except to turn the boat into sepia.. It was so pretty all on its own.

made of stones

Found this old building at a cemetery nearby.

Someone gathered several Buckeyes and all they need now is to be cracked open.

Empty Chairs... for now

Come back for a visit soon.

For some reason, these just don't look like the flowers from chives. But they are supposed to be chives. In fact, they don't even taste much like chives. Maybe the girl at the greenhouse mis-marked them.

I have a few tomatoes that should be ripe by my next visit to the lake. One of them looks like it has a boo-boo.

I love snapping pictures of the sunset. My sister took this one of me when she was here visiting last week.

I can see the big dipper, can you?

It's night time at the lake

There is something about lights reflecting off water that seems magical. Tonight was no exception.

I think its a grasshopper, but his wings look like leaves.

Bird's Nest

I don't know what kind of bird built this nest, but it was in the pine tree in the front yard of the lake house.

Dream House

If this house ever goes on the market, I'd consider selling body parts to purchase it.

Deer me!

Shortly after my arrival home, the dog began to bark. Low and behold, this beautiful creature was standing in our front yard. I followed her across the street, and here she stands in my neighbor's yard. I can't believe she let me get this close. Soon after, she bolted.

Sugar Bear

I saw two hot air balloons across the lake this morning, but
this bear is quite different from others I've seen.

you say tomato

I have three tiny tomatoes on my plants I put in pots. I have no tomatoes on my heirloom plant that is in the ground. Maybe I'm not meant to be a gardener. That is my sister's job.

clam digger

My little friend that lives a few cottages down found this beauty in the shallow of the lake this afternoon. The clam was alive and well in his shell. When I told her how much I enjoyed clam chowder and that I had a great cookbook indoors, she quickly threw him back into the lake.

My sister is coming for a visit in August. Maybe I can convince her to have some afternoon tea with me on the deck. (no bees allowed)

This is the cutest little condiment dish I found at the Farmhouse Giftshop at the Metroparks.

mistakes can be cool

The little girl down the way asked me to take her picture. I was photographing something in the distance in a manual setting with a slow shutter speed on a tripod, and forgot to switch it back... well this is what I got by mistake, but I kinda like it.

My Cilantro grew a flower on top while I was at the cottage for a week.

Wonder what it is.

I bought this flowering plant a few years ago, but it never bloomed this much. And I can't remember just what it is, but its so pretty.

nuthin but net

With all of this talk about basketball finals, I really decided to dream about my own kind of net and not about that "orange circle thingy". I can nap in my version.

Thursday, June 7, 2007

I'd much rather be here today.

Wednesday, June 6, 2007

I'm going to make these napkins into a window valance for the cottage kitchen.

Friday, June 1, 2007

He came out of his shell to say hello.

plastic shoes

I've been making fun of them for years. But everybody keeps saying how comfortable they are. Well, I was at Target yesterday and they had them for $7.50. They are quite honestly the perfect yard shoe. I may go back and get the puke green ones for the cottage.

(sorry no flowers to stick in the holes)

I can't remember the name of this flower, but I took this on my most recent visit to my sister's house.
